I am sorry to inform all of you that I’m not going to continue with this blog. It really was a lot of fun, and this project got me to see a lot of movies that I’ve come to love. But really, it just became work. I love movies. Movies are my life, and I mean that in the non-cliche-est way and the most heartfelt way possible. I love movies. And what ended up happening was I would watch movies and look only for their flaws. It got to the point where I was analyzing movies so much, that I couldn’t enjoy them. The last thing I ever want is to hate watching movies. And keeping up with this will get me to that point. I just want to sit down and watch a movie and appreciate it for what it is, not having to worry about writing a review after, or picking the movie apart.
It was a good run.
Now that I have more than 2 followers :P I’m taking suggestions. So feel free to recommend some of your favorite movies, and I’ll watch them, and review them!
So get the suggestions a-comin’!

39. Super 8
It is the ultimate adventure film for kids and teens alike. Watching it, it brought out so many emotions from excitement to fear to curiosity to wonder and enjoyment. The characters had so much life to them every single one. There were no extras, there was a group of kids and each kid added a flare to the group. There were distinct individual personalities. And the way everyone of them contributed not only to the film, but to the plan. The way each character became a part of the puzzle that became the end of the film was perfect. Wendy’s party became a bargaining chip, and the guy at the counter became more than just that. Everyone had a role.
The whole film making plot hit incredibly close to home, as I to make films for fun. I saw so much of myself in each of the kids and in the whole process.
The love conflict and the parental conflict and the conflict between parents and the depth to the story didn’t create haze, but it instead fit perfectly. Every small aspect was though out and pieced together to create an excellent film.
The cinematography was great. There were so many excellent shots. And the editing added an excellent effect. The score was perfect as a drive for the film, but could have been stronger and more memorable.
It’s hard not to give this film a perfect score. The only thing I felt was missing, was a little more heart and adventure. The fright seemed to push a little to much, and the story lost a little because of it. I wanted to fall even more in love with the characters. I wanted to be even more excited as they did more things.
The ending I’m sure will get a lot of criticism, but I think it was exactly what it needed to be. I also wanted more, but there was no more to give. And if you truly sit and examine it, it was a perfect ending, even in all of its cliche cheesyness.

38. American Beauty
This is just one of those films that has it all. I love nothing more than a multi-narrative, and this film managed to balance each of the stories perfectly. Each story developed and climaxed perfectly in-sync and it was all just wonderful. There were so many perfect and beautiful and meaningful lines. The Screenplay it self was a ten. Lester’s story hit close to home, as it resembled Fight Club. And the relationship he had with his wife and how sarcastic and cynical he could be while still becoming so free and alive was perfect. Definitely one of my favorite characters of all time. And then the way the lines and actions could be ambiguous enough for the Colonel to perceive them wrong was great. It was the little things that were so great. It was the dialogue and it was the overall story and it was the risk and oppression and the familiarity and freedom that all just came in to a flawless screenplay.
And the acting? Phenomenal. Kevin Spacey was everything and more than he needed to be. He captured his role spot on and he delivered an excellent performance. His solemness and his lack of expression give so much to his sarcasm that he embodies Lester as if he were in fact Lester. And Wes Bentley as Ricky Fitts was great. He masterfully portrayed serious and deep and intellectual Ricky. It was so natural and believable and frightening.
The cinematography had its share of good moments, but was mostly basic. But the mise-en-scene and the editing made up for it plenty. The overall production was great. The editing the first time Lester sees Angela was amazing and so fitting. It was all just so fitting. The chemistry between the production and cinematography and editing and acting and the story created a perfect film.

37. The Departed
There will always be a place in my heart for Mafia movies. The best part of this film is definitely the story. It was able to carry two plots masterfully. And the end was perfect. It was short and cutthroat and clean. The double love interest was an excellent tie between the two stories and Frank was too. It was complex enough to be awesome, but not too the point where it was confusing. And the little thing with the address was great. the acting was spot on. Leo was perfect. Where the fuck is his Oscar? He is consistently an amazing actor, and he deserves recognition. Farmiga pulled her weight as far as acting. She wasn’t amazing, but she wasn’t at all bad. And she sure was sexy. Mark Wahlberg stepped up perfectly and was super badass. Great acting by him. Matt Damon was great, but needed a little push for amazing. Jack was perfect. I love Jack and he was meant to play the role of a Boss. The acting was perfect. Scorsese knows exactly how to get what he wants. The cinematography was great, and the final scene with Damon and Wahlberg was awesome, especially the last shot. It was a great movie, but it needed the slightest bit more “mafia” the story was great, and the characters were developed nicely, but the mob itself needed a little more. F 9/10 M 9/10

36. Dead Poets Society
This was a great movie. The whole concept of the kids getting together in the middle of the night to read poetry and to just live and think and be kids together was great. And Mr. Keating’s character was brilliant. He was so ahead of his time. His relationship and support of the kids and his love for literature and the way he expressed it was great. He was equally a mentor a father and a bestfriend, and that was perfect. I would have liked to see more of him. It was kind of as though he got the ball rolling in the story, and then he would check-in every so often. Also, Ethan Hawkes character was the same in a sense. He was always there, and he seemed important, but it wasn’t until the end that he actually mattered. He should have been more from the beginning. The way the story was able to be fun and intellectual and serious and easy and endlessly solemn was great. It was so dynamic. But it just needed a bit more solid ground. It tried many different plots, and the story lost a bit of itself that way. It needed to be a little more rooted in something, and it needed more time in Mr. Keating’s classroom. But that didn’t hurt the film too much. The end was perfect and just got you pumped and rallied in the greatest was imaginable. And the whole “Oh Captain, My Captain” motif was great. The characters were great, and the cinematography was average. The story had potential to be great. F 8/10 M 8/10

35. Middle of Nowhere
This was so boring. A whole lot of nothing really happened. It tried to get emotional, but really I was just pissed for the girl, not sad. And why the hell did the main guy even leave his house? That really didn’t make sense. A good film was trying to break free, but the screenplay was just too limited. It lacked a driving force. Things kind of happened, but nothing connected them resulting in nothing happening. The main girl was almost unattractive, but she had a decent rack. And her younger sister was super cute, but they both lacked acting capabilities. The older sister the most. Anton Yelchin was the only good thing. His character sucked, but his acting was good. Not amazing, but good. The cinematography tried too hard to be good and ended up shitty. And the whole movie was in desperate need of color correction. There were to many emotions trying to be portrayed, and they all just fell short. Overall, it had a lot of potential, but it ended up flopping and being known as what could have been. F 4/10 M 5/10

34. Survival of the Dead
What happened? This movie was so bad. There was only one good thing about it, and that was the way they connected this movie with Diary of the Dead. That was decently cool. But aside from that, it was shit. The cinematography was basic, not good or bad. The acting was terrible. The characters were shitty. There was a decent looking girl fingering herself, and that was pretty awesome. But the worst part is that the zombies were barely even a part of it. They were like a side story! What kind of shit is that? I watch zombie movies to get scared, and to see blood and brains. This was not a zombie movie, this was a political shit storm. There was so much bad in one movie it was just… ah! The story was bad and cheesy and there was just nothing good. What happened to the father of zombie movies? F 2/10 M 4/10 Zombie Movie 3/10

33. Takers
The first thing that must be said is TI needs to stick to his music. His acting was hard to watch. Definitely the worst part of this movie.
This movie definitely had a badass factor. The final shoot out was great. I would have liked to see a little more action overall though. I really liked the characters as far as the Takers go. Their style and chemistry was great. They worked together like good friends, and that always adds to a movie. I really hated that as the movie went on, it became about the cops, and not the Takers. The name is fucking Takers… That really made me angry. I like the whole double conflict with the cops though. That was a good story arch, but I wanted to see some goddamn crime. I wanted to see the Takers fuck shit up, and in the first act, that’s what I thought I was getting, but I didn’t. The cinematography was shit too. Like it was mostly basic, but there were so many bad shots and some bad editing and bleh. It was just gross. I don’t want to watch that kind of stuff. As for Chris Brown, I liked the young inexperienced character he had and how badass he became under pressure. That was great and I take my hat off to him. Overall, the story just took a bad direction, and the acting was decent and the cinematography was shit. It was badass, but it wasn’t great. F 5/10 M 7/10

32. Hot Tub Time Machine
This was your basic comedy. It had a lot of almost-funny moments. And it had a few very funny moments. The whole arm coming of thing was great. And there were a lot of funny little quirks. Like when that guy calls his 9 year-old wife, or when he breaks the 4th wall. There were definitely some clever little additions. Otherwise it was just your basic comedy. Nothing special, nothing bad. Just… Average. F 5/10 M 7/10
